If you know me you know I'm a big tea drinker. In fact both me and my housemate, Elme, have the kettle going almost non stop when we're home. When one of us offers to put the kettle on, the only real question is "Which kind do you want?"
My favourite is roobios (or redbush), however there are a few others that also come up pretty high on my list.
White Tea with Vanilla
When I first heard of white tea I thought it just meant tea with milk, instead it is a herbal tea made from the Camilla Sinensis tea bush. It is the least processed of all teas meaning it has an amazing amount of antioxidents, more so then green tea! It's also naturally caffeine free.
I love this particular one infused with vanilla because it tastes so sweet. White tea on it's own has a subtle well rounded flavour and the vanilla compliements it nicely. Perfect for a something sweet after dinner.
Oolong Tea
Oolong is a very full bodied in flavour kind of tea. It sits somewhere between green and black tea. It contains a small amount of caffeine but much less then regular black tea so is a great substitution.
My favourite kind is roasted - delicious.
Tip: Let your water cool down just a little bit before pouring to avoid burning the leaves resulting in a bitter taste (Thanks Elme! ;))
Ginger Tea
My saviour in winter! Ginger tea truely warms the bones and as well as just tasting good, it has some great properties.
Ginger aids in digestion and also calms and settles an irritated stomach. It is also a strong antioxidant that assists in warding off colds and viruses and combats chills and fevers - perfect for winter time!
What tea do you like?
